I know that these Northern England place names sometimes sound like they've been made, but I assure these are not. The village we stayed in on our recent trip, is a very quiet unassuming farming community (sheep and dairy pasture mostly; pretty and easy to walk), sitting on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with absolutely stunning views across Settle and Langcliffe and on up Ribblesdale towards Pen-y-ghent. By anyone's standards, most certainly worth a wiggle or two:
