Beautiful autumn light

So, it was such a bright, beautiful autumn morning when I got up yesterday morning, I just couldn't stop myself from heading out with my camera. I half thought about returning to Koishikawa Korakuen and doing a part 3, but in the end I returned to one of Tokyo's little gems. I haven't been to Rikugien in 5 years, but I talk about it often, when people ask me about my favourite places in Tokyo.

Thanks to the weather, it was a glorious return. And thanks to its autumn garb, the garden really did look its best.

Autumn moon

So, I've been working away this week for the final time this year. As usual, it's been a punishing schedule, with precious little opportunity to get outside the facility and explore; not during daylight hours anyway. Luckily, the weather has been fantastic all week, so what chances there were, were gratefully seized.

Koishikawa Korakuen - part 2

So, just under a month on, and I'm back at Koishikawa Korakuen. The autumn, pretty late in coming, has fair whizzed by, and temperatures are now down around the December norms. Even so, speaking in terms of autumnal vibrancy, the garden isn't quite what you might call finished, but it is pretty close and, in any event, looking beautiful.

If I get the chance, I might pop by for yet another visit in a week or two, just to capture more of the transition. If I don't manage to get, though, I think these shots may suffice.

Izu nights

So, working away again. Crappy weather this time, kept me in the hotel during the daylight hours. It cleared up later long just enough for me to stretch my legs and have a crack at some night scenes.
