So, before this weekend's rain blasted them past their peak, I managed to get in to Tokyo and take a few shots of the beautiful 'sakura', which herald the arrival of spring in such dramatic fashion each year in Japan.

I headed in to work an hour early, and modified my usual route to take in Aoyama Cemetery and a small but very pretty temple in Omotesando called Zenkoji.

I wish I could have spent more time wandering around... it really was a beautiful day... no breeze and, for the first time this year, the warm sun across my back.
