Winter walk 2

So, I took the early train up to my semi-regular gig in Tohoku; one, to see some snow and two to climb a mountain and look at the ocean.

I accomplished all of these but, before I get to that, I have to say something about this train. It's fast, I mean really fast... Tokyo to Morioka in two hours... speeds of up to 320km/h. Just great. The thing that makes me laugh is that it takes longer to then get to my final destination on the coast... Mind you I wouldn't want to go too fast on that leg of the journey. The Kamaishi Line wends through some outstandingly beautiful countryside, it would be a shame to trap along and miss it all... especially when it's blanketed in snow.

It did look beautiful all dressed up in its winter garb, and it was definitely much easier to spot all the deer that live there in the woody highlands between Hanamaki and the sea.

Of course, there was much less snow when I got to the coast, but there was enough to make for a pretty walk. And enough also to enhance some of the views
